Press release dated 06.12.2011

The negotiation delegations of Swiss Post and the trade unions syndicom and transfair have reached an agreement in wage negotiations for the year 2012. They agreed on a general 1% salary increase for all employees subject to the Swiss Post collective employment contract (CEC). Moreover, all employees will receive a one-off payment of CHF 500. In addition, 0.8% of the total salary sum will be allocated for individual performance-related remuneration. The decision-making bodies of the social partners still have to approve the outcome.

As a result of two wage rounds, the negotiation delegations of Swiss Post and the trade unions have agreed on the following:

  • Employees subject to the Swiss Post CEC will receive a general salary increase of 1% next year.
  • Moreover, all employees will receive a one-off payment of CHF 500.
  • Having achieved a good performance in the current year, Swiss Post is setting aside 0.8% of the total salary sum for individual remuneration. A majority of employees subject to the Swiss Post CEC will profit from this measure.

These salary measures affect the 35,000 or so employees who are subject to the Swiss Post CEC. The negotiations for employees of PostBus Switzerland Ltd, PostLogistics Ltd and SecurePost Ltd have not been concluded as yet.

Decision-making bodies' approval outstanding

The decision-making bodies at Swiss Post and the unions still have to approve the outcome of the negotiations. At Swiss Post, this is the Board of Directors, at syndicom the industry committee for the postal/logistics sector and at transfair the industry plenum.
