Acting in a sustainable manner

Using paper sparingly

Swiss Post wants to reduce its paper consumption, so it is cutting back on quantities and using only paper that is FSC-certified.

According to the WWF, over 40 percent of the timber felled worldwide is used to make paper products. The high demand for the timber required to manufacture paper is leading to major environmental problems. Cutting back on paper consumption is therefore one of Swiss Post's environmental protection measures. Our employees are required to print sparingly.

FSC-certified and recycled paper

We use exclusively FSC-certified paper. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a charitable organization that campaigns globally for environmentally compatible, socially acceptable and commercially viable forest management. Our photocopying paper contains 50 percent recycled fibres.

Consolidated mailings and e-finance

With PostFinance consolidated mailings, customers receive their account statements, enclosures and interest statements in a single envelope. PostFinance is also expanding e-finance – electronic account statements and invoices save paper.
